I know the secret to being happy at work.

Do you want to know? I promise it’s not a gimmick, its based on scientific evidence and has been proved to work. The questions below will give you a clue.

Do you know what makes you happy in your job? I mean what really makes you happy? Any of the following:

  • The people I work with
  • My boss
  • Feeling valued and respected
  • Doing something that makes a difference / contributes to world / helps people

WHY do these things make you happy?

What if I were to tell you that it’s because they are based on your ‘work values’. And having your work values met is essential to being happy at work.

If I took them away, how happy would you really be at work – honestly?

Final question: When you apply for a new job or promotion, which of the following do you consider?

  • Your qualifications
  • Your experience
  • Your career path
  • The Location
  • The type of work
  • Salary

Now look again at what makes you happy – did you factor any of them in? After all you considered them important to your happiness at work.

What does this mean? It means if you have your work values met in your job then you are 82% more likely to happy at work. I like those statistics.

What’s even better is that you can find out (and most people don’t by the way), really easily. It will take you about 15 minutes and it’s cheap (Approximately the price of 7 coffees)
