Career Values Cards
At Career Clarity, all our staff have over 8 years + recruitment experience. We know how important it is to match the right candidate to the right position. The cost of getting it wrong is huge.
Many organisations are realising that as well as skills, competencies, qualifications and a person's psychological profile, their values directly correlate to their satisfaction in a chosen job and career.
As a recruiter, knowing a candidate's career values will provide you with additional assurance that they are the right fit for the position.
For example:
On paper, a person may have all the qualifications and experience. Then you meet them in person and they have well developed interpersonal skills.
However, when you identify their values with them you discover that they highly value recognition in a role. You know the previous incumbent felt that recognition in the position was very low and they found it hard.
If you place this person in this role, while you may have a short term success, they will quickly be unhappy and disappointed. It's better to know ALL the person's success criteria BEFORE placing them in a position.
Examples of Career Values include:
- Team Work - Working with other
- Authority - Being in control of the work of others
- Make Decisions - Have the direct ability to contribute to the course of actions and results
- Equality - work for an organisation that values equality and actively promotes it
- Flexibility - The job allows self-determination of hours and working flexibility
